You may be familiar with the Japanese philosophy of Ikigai which refers to a life that has purpose, meaning, a reason for living. You've probably heard of Hygge which is a word in Danish that describes a cozy, content mood created through comfort and maybe you're aware of another philosophy in Japanese culture called Nagomi which is characterized by a sense of ease, balance, and comfort in the heart and mind.
I started reading about and incorporating Nagomi in my life a year ago and the peace it's brought within my self has been a very healing part of my spiritual journey. To understand and incorporate this philosophy into your life, you work on different areas of your life. For me it was cultivating healthy relationships, to always continue to learn new things, find peace in everything I do, continue to find ways to be creative, and to keep my inner child alive by staying young at heart. As adults it's impossible to avoid seasons that may feel chaotic or busy, what Nagomi has taught me is that you need that chaos in order to truly appreciate the calm, it's that balance where you find the state of Nagomi.
It's truly a system that creates harmony in your life and I am so excited to bring this concept to a day retreat that I am co-hosting with my dear friend Jessica Baumhofer-Frank. If you are in Minnesota or nearby states and would like to join us for a day filled with integrative techniques to teach you to create this balance for yourself register here!
